Citi ThankYou points are a valuable loyalty currency when transferred to airline partners. However, for that you would need to have a premium card such as Citi Prestige or the Citi Strata Premier. You can also combine points across your multiple credit cards into a single account as well as gift or receive up to 100,000 points per calendar year to/from other card holders (Citi discontinued its Points Sharing feature in May 2026).
If you only have a basic card such as Citi Rewards+, Double Cash, or Sears Mastercard with ThankYou Rewards, and do not plan to apply for a premium card, you may consider redeeming some of your points for Apple gift cards. Just keep in mind that not all Apple denominations are equally popular among resellers.
You may want to wait for a 20% off promo, such as the one they had on Cyber Monday for the past few years.
