Beware: although currently Kroger website is advertising 4X Fuel Points on all third party gift cards, they are giving only standard 2X Fuel Points online. In-store purchases still earn 4X with the correct coupon clipped.
This problem started on April 8, 2026, and was not resolved throughout the two week promotion that followed. Then 4X posted as expected on April 24, 2026, during the one day only promo. However, same issue re-surfaced on April 29, when the next two week promotion began. On May 15, 2026, once again, they are having same issue during a one day promo. May 22-25 4X promo, another bust.
Besides the dedicated link above, 4X promotion is advertised with banners on the Kroger’s Gift Cards landing page and in special wording under each participating gift card. Once you add the gift cards to your shopping cart, there is no indication that the purchase will actually earn 4X, nor does it say what total amount of Fuel Points to expect – the only way to actually tell is by checking your points activity after placing your order and doing the math yourself.
In addition, online gift card purchases are not reflected in your purchase history at all, which means that customer service representatives cannot verify such purchases and would not credit the missing points manually either. Calling during normal business hours (when supervisors are available) would improve your chances.

You should always get at the very least 2x base points. Sometimes there is a short delay before the point balance is updated.
