The Deal

You’ll can now purchase digital gift cards from Google Play for brands across retail, dining, travel, entertainment, and more. Once purchased, your gift card will be securely delivered by email or text message with instructions on how to redeem it. Select ‘Gift cards’ in your profile menu, or search for gift cards on Play. From there, you’ll be able to explore brands and filter by categories. Tap ‘Deals’ to filter out gift cards sold at face value and see only ones sold at a discount.

Tips & Ideas

This may be a targeted promotion, since not everyone is seeing the discount on the Google Play gift cards page and there is no “deals” filter, like they had in the previous promotions.

Google Play purchases are coded as Electronics and earn the corresponding category bonus, e.g. 4x Membership Rewards from American Express Business Gold Card (Eugene’s referral link), if Electronics is one of your top two spending categories during this billing cycle.

Google Play gift cards may not be used for third party gift card purchases.
