- Purchases of Target GiftCards that exceed certain transaction limits may be voided
- If the GiftCard transaction exceeds $500, the $50 maximum discount may be proportionately allocated across all GiftCards in the transaction
Tips & Ideas
Earn 5% cashback on up to $1,500 in purchases at Target during 2024 Q4 using Discover credit cards enrolled in quarterly bonus categories. Keep in mind that while Target Circle credit and debit cards also earn 5% at Target, they exclude Target gift card purchases.
Some Target locations may permit purchasing multiple gift cards (up to $500 total at a time), despite the terms stating otherwise. Max of $500 total does not appear to be enforced. However, in the past, they’ve de-activated and refunded some gift cards purchased in excess of this limit, based on some criteria that they alone may understand. So, if you purchase any gift cards in excess of the limit, they will not be suitable for reselling – not even the first one purchased chronologically – as you never know which one(s), if any, you would get to keep, and which may be de-activated and (hopefully) refunded.
