Giant Food had a similar promotion in the past, but was only offering 4X Flexible Rewards Points on Zift Zillions of Gifts Cards then. Finally they are offering an excellent deal on par with their sister chains Giant PA/Martin’s and Stop&Shop.
Use a credit card that offers bonus for spending at grocery stores, such as 4x Membership Rewards from American Express Gold Card (Eugene’s referral link).
Many locations permit purchasing up to $5,000 in gift cards in a single transaction (and the system allows it), despite the terms stating a lower limit.
Flexible Rewards may be redeemed at Giant gas stations and participating Shell stations for a fuel discount. 100 points = $0.10 discount per gallon (20-gallon max). Point redemptions are capped at 1,500 points per use = $1.50 off per gallon. Customers must enter a phone number at the pump to get their discount.
It is possible to connect Flexible Rewards with a Fuel Rewards account and use ALT ID at Shell instead of the phone number. Fuel Rewards program allows combining points from multiple partners for additional discounts.
