Target deals involving a “bonus” Target gift card are actually set up to charge full price for it and to discount the other item(s) accordingly. In this case, you would get a Delta gift card at 86% of its face value and a Target gift card at 100% of its face value, thus earning 4.3% cashback on the total purchase amount.
“Bonus” Target gift cards from online orders are linked to the purchasing account automatically. While some may find this convenient, keep in mind that other people would not be able to use such gift cards.
