Tips & Ideas
Target Circle credit and debit cards earn 5% at Target, but they exclude Target gift cards. Target deals involving a “bonus” Target gift card are actually set up to charge full price for it and to discount the other item(s) accordingly. In this case, you would get a third party gift card(s) at 90% of their face value and a Target gift card at 100% of its face value, thus earning 4.5% cashback on the total purchase amount.
Bonus Target gift cards from online orders are linked to the purchasing account automatically. While some may find this convenient, keep in mind that other people would not be able to use such gift cards. Bonus Target gift cards from in-store purchases do not have similar restrictions on them.
Many Target locations permit purchasing multiple gift cards (one at a time), despite the terms stating otherwise. Limit of one does not appear to be enforced by the system.
